Solomom Kakai Karini: Board Chairperson

Solomon has a post-graduate Diploma in Mass Communications (UON), MA (Literature) KU, B.Ed (KU). He is a General Manager at Longman Kenya Ltd and a Council member at the Kenya Publishers Association. He was Board Member at Legal Resources Foundation until 2011.

Angeline Siparo: Vice Chairperson

Angeline is a Director of the UNAIDS Technical Support Facility (TSF EA) providing HIV/AIDS technical assistance to eight countries in Eastern African implemented by the Center for African Studies based in Nairobi, Kenya. Angeline is based in Nairobi and participates in regional and international forums and provides leadership in finding innovative African Solutions to African problems. Countries under her jurisdiction are Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea and Somalia. Prior to join CAFS, Angeline worked with the Futures Group as the Regional Manager covering the same region but with a focus on strengthening the policy environment in the Eastern African region. Angeline is also well known throughout the world for her strong focus on and interest in women's empowerment with specific contributions to Women and HIV, gender-based violence, and inheritance rights. She has broad experience working with a variety of organizations including donors, governments, and NGOs/Religious Institutions.

Ciriaka Gitonga: Secretary/Principal

Current Program Manager/Principal since January, 2009. Ciriaka is an Educational Psychologists holding an MED in Educational Psychology, a Diploma in Human Resources Management and an Advanced Diploma in Counseling Psychology. She is currently completing her Doctoral Studies at Kenyatta University. Ciriaka previously worked as school psychologist at the Aga Khan Academy until 2008 and prior to that she worked in various leadership positions in schools. She has been involved in developing assessment and intervention programs for learners with special needs.

Millicent Atieno Oyugi: Board Treasurer

BEd (Sc) Hons graduate. Alumni of Kenyatta University. Taught for three years before joining the Banking Industry. Currently working as a Banker with CfC Stanbic Bank (previously with Barclays Bank). Appointed treasurer in 2012.

Sandeep Kaur: Board Member

Sandeep was appointed as a board member in 2009. She is the Finance and Administration Manager for Oriel Ltd.

Margaret Kamau: Board Member

Margret is trained teacher who has taught a top girls school in Kenya. She has been coordinating behavior change programs in school for the last ten years through funded programs as a capacity program coordinator. She is a curriculum developer with KIE and an author with Oxford University press. She is a member of Westland District Education Board. She is currently a consultant trainer on youth and development.

Catherine S. Beacham: Board Member

Catherine is currently the East Africa Regional Representative of the Australian Red Cross Volunteer Program which is funded by AusAID. She has over 20 years' international development experience working on health, gender and education programs across East Africa, Asia and the Pacific. She previously managed the UNAIDS Technical Support Facility, a $6 million initiative that extended a range of assistance to National Aids Coordinating Authorities across the region. Her past roles include working as a Deputy Chief of Party on a $25 million USAID program for South Sudan and serving as Director of CIDA's Gender Fund for Kenya. She came to Kenya after several years of working for different development agencies in Cambodia and the Philippines. She holds a Masters Degree in International Development (Gender/Political Economy), a Bachelor of Arts in History & Politics (1st Class Honours) and a Teaching Diploma.

Martin Muigah: Board Member

Martin is an Electronics Communication Engineer who graduated with a B.Tech from Moi University 14 years ago. He has been in the field of communications ever since with a workspace scope spanning the whole of East Africa and Indian Ocean region countries. Currently, Mr Muigah is the CEO and team leader of Efficaxx Support Consultants (Africa) Limited. Efficaxx is an IT Support and Consultancy company in four east Africa countries. It mainly deals with companies who wish to fully or partially outsource their IT departments.

Margaret Wambui Thuo: Finance Officer

Holds a degree in B-Com Finance, a Higher Diploma in Business Administration and a CPA (K). She has experience in auditing, accounting and administration for the last five years. She is the Admin and Finance Officer at KCCL.
